When things go wrong

Streaming on 4G or mobile data

You can broadcast using mobile data, but the connection needs to sustain the stream from your filming position.

Signal bars alone do not tell you whether upload performance is adequate. Test the connection at the venue, from the spot you will use, and consider how a busy audience could change conditions.

Before the show:

  • Check your mobile data allowance.
  • Test venue Wi-Fi if you intend to use it.
  • Prepare a backup connection where possible.
  • Check battery and heat management.
  • Keep the phone securely positioned.

Data consumption depends on the stream's settings and duration. Do not assume a fixed amount per hour without checking your usage.

If the connection deteriorates, check the app's status. Use your tested backup if needed and allow reconnection to complete. Repeatedly changing networks can cause further interruption.

For a persistent problem, email hello@actionppv.com with the event, phone model and what the app shows.
